They say Crystal Meth is popular in the gay male community

March 14, 2008

Apparently California drug officials have launched an anti-meth campaign aimed at gay men. This LA Times article explains it all. Now I understand the cultural forces at work behind my gay male hairdresser in LA saying “I once had meth in my life.” This web-site called Me Not Meth is pretty interesting. People post their personal stories… ok maybe its more interesting in theory than in practice.

A Little bita Barack Obama’s story

March 9, 2008

Where there is great risk, there is also great opportunity for transformation. Part of me thinks that Barak could be an amazing change for America. Part of me thinks that he doesn’t even know what he’d be getting into and if elected he’d fold like a cheap suit to the realities of politics in Washington. Either way Barack Obama makes for an interesting story. He is only the third African-American to be elected to the Senate since Reconstitution. When was Reconstitution you might ask? I dont know, but sounds like it was a long time ago…

Sick… yes. Twisted… yes. but it doesn’t surprise me one bit

“Supersize Me” guy speaks.

March 6, 2008

Vague headline I know. I was trying to lure you in… or tease you to click, like a “tease” on television news broadcast.  So did it work?

The guy who made the movie Supersize Me spoke in Santa Barbara yesterday. I wasn’t there, but its seems like it could have been interesting. Or it could just be another example of how white people love to hate corporations.

The story I wrote for the 5 or 6 pm newscast yesterday about the even made it onto MSNBC!!!  I always love seeing my name on their web-site.  It strokes my ego.  My attempts to become ego-less are not working… yet.

It is ALSO interesting that the speech was part of an initiative called the ‘S Cool Food that promotes childhood healthiness in Santa Barbara.  (I think they need to find a name that works better on tv.) The guy who got rich by starting Kinko’s in SB back in the day funded it.

I love it that this guy is using his money to help others.
